Travel Guide – Copper Mountain

Bradley and I spent 4 days skiing in Colorado and we LOVED it. We met Bradley’s cousin, Zach there and we all stayed together. It was a nice change of pace from the usual beach/cruise trips. This was both of our first times skiing in Colorado and it didn’t disappoint. Bradley has been begging me to go skiing since we started dating 6 years ago, so we were so excited to be able to do that this year. If you’ve never been, you definitely should start planning a ski trip there ASAP.

WHERE WE STAYED

We stayed in a condo in the quaint town of Silverthorne and were able to drive 15 minutes to Copper Mountain where we did all of our skiing. Silverthorne is a great place to stay because it is 15 minutes from Copper Mountain, Breckinridge and Vail, all of the best places to ski! We also loved that our condo was a couple minutes from all of the best restaurants. It really was in the perfect spot and look at the view you get driving to and from the slopes. You can’t beat it!

You can look at Airbnb’s in Silverthorne here.

WHERE WE SKIED

We skied at Copper Mountain all 3 days we were there. There’s a couple of really cool things about this resort.

1. You can download the Copper Mountain app that gives you access to a lot of cool things. On this app you can invite friends and track where they are at while they are on the mountain. It also tracks your personal ski day and tells you your top mph, run difficulty, number of lifts/runs and vertical feet you travelled. I was very impressed with it and thought it was so cool to see all that it could do. If you are visiting Copper Mountain, downloading the app is a MUST… you can download it here.

2. It is great for every skier. The mountain is set up so the black diamond and double black diamond runs are on the far left and it gets easier as you go to the right. All of the green (easy) runs were on the far right, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally going down a black diamond. I stayed mainly in the far right area where there were mostly greens, but Bradley and Zach skied in the middle section a lot where there were mostly blues.

3. There are more activities to do than just skiing. While you’re there you have an assortment of things you can do. You can go tubing, ice skating, down a coaster, go on tours, snowmobiling and so much more! The next time we go I would love to go tubing. It looked like F U N.

WHERE WE ATE

We only ate at a couple of restaurants while we were there but they were all so good! There were also so many to choose from, on and off the mountain! While we were skiing we ate at Jack’s Slopeside Grill, T-Rex Grill, and Koko’s Hut. Copper Mountain has so many restaurants to choose from. We ate at one restaurant off the mountain, Sauce on the Blue. IT WAS AMAZING. It’s an Italian restaurant in Silverthorne and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We had such a great time. We were definitely laughing by the end of it saying we were going to need a vacation after that vacation, but it was amazing. I started the trip off with a lesson and by the last day I went down a couple blue runs! We definitely plan to go back and spend some more time out there!

As always, all opinions and text are my own.

Stay Sweet!
