House Update + Our Plan

Our house is going to look very different once we move into it. We are changing A LOT, and we are doing most of it ourselves! We’ve already done a good bit, if you want to see the transformation as we go, I am saving everything to my “home reno” highlight on Instagram. I’m sure some of y’all are curious on what our plan is, so I want to share our ideas and plans for what we want to do. Here’s a couple of “before” pictures.

We are ripping up ALL of the flooring, the carpet, the wood floor, it’s all coming up. Bradley has already taken up all of the flooring and by the time y’all are reading this, the new flooring should be delivered to our house. Bradley plans on installing that himself too! We decided to replace it with a light/medium brown LVP wood. I always thought I would go with a dark brown, like the flooring that is already in the house, but when I saw the lighter color I fell in love. AND y’all also sent me a ton of DM’s on Instagram sharing that the dark brown floors show EVERYTHING and when you have 2 dirty dogs, that is a bad idea.

We are also painting the whole interior. I have already completed my office, the living room, and all of the guest bedrooms. There’s some wallpaper in a couple of the rooms and bathrooms that we will probably have someone come in and remove before we paint. We are also going to have someone paint the entry because it’s so tall. I chose Sherwin Williams “Pure White” to paint the whole interior except the accent wall in my office which is Sherwin Williams “Powder Blue“.

We are replacing the stove and fridge with a stainless steel stove and fridge. We are going to rip out the backsplash and replace it with a white herringbone tile. I am SO EXCITED for this. We have already replaced the old hardware with matte black knobs and pulls.

We have decided to remodel our master bathroom! I think Bradley is most excited about this. We are extending our shower out, taking out the tub and replacing it with a freestanding tub, and tiling the floor.

We are so excited to be able to move into our house. It’s definitely been an undertaking doing a lot of the reno ourselves, but it’s definitely been worth it. Not only do we save a pretty penny, but it makes moving in even sweeter. I can’t wait to share more and make sure to follow along on my Instagram!

As always, all opinions and text are my own.

Stay Sweet!
