DIY McGee & Co. Nightstand Dupe for Under $100

The time has come… I am so excited to be sharing home decor with you! FINALLY! The first home decor post had to be a good one and I am excited to say it will not disappoint. As you probably already know, Bradley and I try to stick to a pretty strict budget. We have a monthly budget, but we also have a home decor budget. Because I always love the most expensive home decor, I have to get creative.

You’ve probably heard of Studio McGee and McGee & Co. They make beautiful home decor and furniture but with a hefty price tag. I would fill our house with McGee & Co. but our bank account would be empty pretty quick… Of course when I saw this nightstand I fell in love. BUT THERE WAS NO WAY I WAS PAYING $2,000 FOR A NIGHTSTAND! So I found this one from Ikea for $80 and got the idea from @samanthapgleave to add these $10 knobs. The process was so easy. It took Bradley about 10 min to do both nightstands and he was done!

the process
  1. Assembly : the nightstands came unassembled so I had to put them together. Out of all the furniture I’ve put together, I would say these have been the easiest. I did both of them by myself and it only took me about an hour.
  2. Measure : we figured out where the middle of the drawer was top to bottom and cut that in half to find the center. From there we decided how far apart we wanted them to be. Bradley measured from the side of the drawer to the center of the knob. Once he got these measurements he drilled the hole in this spot on both sides on both nightstands.
  3. Add the Knobs : the knobs were so easy to install. You don’t need any tools.

As always, all opinions and text are my own.
