Yes you read that right… WE ARE MOVING… to Birmingham! I know what you are thinking, “I thought you just bought a house June 1st.” Well we did, and yes we are moving 4 months later. I am freaking out just a little.
It’s been really hard not being able to tell y’all. I’ve almost slipped up so many times, but I didn’t want to share anything until we knew that we were 100% moving. I feel so many emotions. I’m sad that we won’t get to live in our amazing home for longer, I’m excited to be headed on a new adventure with Bradley and the pups, and I’m a little scared because we are about to move 2+ hours from our friends and family. Also feeling sad about that.
So why are we moving? It’s kind of a long story but I’m going to try to give you the short version. If you didn’t know, Bradley is a pilot for a company out of Birmingham. His boss has been gracious enough to let him keep the airplane here in Atlanta with us, so we can be here with our families. Well, 2 weeks after we closed Bradley was flying with 2 passengers and one of the engines stopped working mid flight. Thankfully, Bradley was able to get it on the ground uneventfully. Because of this, Bradley’s boss has decided to sell that plane and get a bigger/safer one. Bigger/Safer = more expensive, so we aren’t able to keep it in Atlanta with us. Hence us moving back to Birmingham.
CRAZY! We knew that this was a possibility right after we closed on our house, but it became reality about 3 weeks ago. I’ve been decorating our home knowing we weren’t going to be in it long, so I haven’t done exactly what I wanted. That’s also a big reason why I haven’t posted a ton about it. I’ve just tried to put as much up as I can to make it feel somewhat homey, while also making sure I’m not doing too much since we are going to have to pack all of it up soon.
When I post this our house will most likely be on the market and maybe even under contract (fingers crossed). We have already started looking for a house in Birmingham, and have narrowed down where we want to live. I think we will sell our house and rent an apartment for a couple of months until we find exactly what we want. Bring on house hunting and decorating ROUND 2!
With all of that being said, we are excited to experience something new. We actually really like Birmingham and the people there. If anyone is from Birmingham and wants to be friends DM me on Instagram! haha 🙂
